Born in India, Rupali Khanna grew up with a father who valued traditional artisans and their skills. A pioneer of exporting handloom home furnishings, he instilled the values of respecting people, especially the weavers in his children.
After moving to Sydney in the late 1990s, Indotex Australia was founded by Rupali in 2000 with the purpose of providing bespoke sourcing and import solutions to designers and businesses for homewares and textiles from India.
In the world where the makers are often forgotten and the cheapest materials are sought, Rupali’s dedication to the artistry of craftsmen and purity as well as the quality of the materials is a breath of fresh air.
With experience of working in the textiles and homewares industry in both India and Australia, Rupali understands the complexities involved in dealing with Indian suppliers as well as the high level of customer service demanded by the Australian market.
